Minister Clare visits St Mary Mackillop College Canberra

Federal Education Minister Jason Clare visited our school yesterday to talk about the Government’s Educational Agenda and its emerging initiative around anti-bullying.

Minister Clare fully engaged with MacKillop’s Leadership and showed real capacity to listen with understanding to issues around school agency, Principal autonomy and the centrality of the principal to building safe communities. He visited three classes and fully engaged the students whilst displaying a warm personality and reassuring capacity to offer dignity and interest to adolescent students. Everybody at MacKillop is gratified that we have a Minister who is all over policy but keen to see what it looks like in a Catholic school and its classrooms.
