St John's Regional College is a large Catholic co-educational secondary school located in Dandenong in the South Eastern suburbs of Melbourne.

The College has around 900 students

St John's Regional College draws its students from the regional (priority) parishes of the Dandenong/Casey regions:

  • St Mary's, Dandenong;
  • Holy Family, Doveton;
  • St Paul Apostle, Endeavour Hills;
  • St Kevin's, Hampton Park;
  • St Anthony's, Noble Park
  • and the additional priority parishes of Resurrection Parish Keysborough and St Gerard's Dandenong North.

I commenced as Principal of St. John's Regional College in January 2017. Previously I had been Principal - St Peter's College Cranbourne

What parts of the role of Principal give you the greatest satisfaction..:

  • Working with young people to help them achieve their aspirations and goals.
  • Building the capacity of a team of committed and passionate staff as they establish a community of learners with young people at their heart.

What are the one or two aspects of your College that you are especially proud of..:

The multicultural nature of our school where all are welcome and all have a strong sense of belonging.

What are the main challenges to you and other Catholic schools in your local area:

  • Competition from specialist and select entry schools in our region.
  • A transient population, which can provide challenges in building community.

What do you believe are the one or two main issues confronting Catholic Secondary College nationally"

Being true to our fundamental purpose of evangelisation in a secular world.
