The awards celebrate and promote initiatives that make communities safer and better prepared for hazards and emergencies. The awards are celebrating 20 years and we hope to see a wide range of projects submitted from across Australia, in both rural and metro contexts from the education sector.
Previous National School Awards winners include Dixon's Creek Primary School for their curriculum program that connects students with Indigenous Elders to learn more about effective bushfire management.
Submissions are open in every state and territory until 17 May. There's even a photography category for images that best represent resilience in schools.
