The Curriculum Specialist, English, will be responsible for providing verbal and written advice on all matters relating to the English curriculum and literacy across the curriculum. This role will generate a range of papers, presentations, correspondence and advice materials, and will work with a range of internal and external stakeholders to achieve the timely completion of deliverables under the annual work plan.This role will collaborate with other business units to ensure alignment between the Curriculum and ACARA's national assessment programs, and on any matters relating to the Australian Curriculum: English.
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Curriculum, the Curriculum Specialist will provide learning area expertise in combination with support for:
Program of national and international research
National Literacy and Numeracy Progressions
Student work sample collection and publication.The successful applicant will have tertiary qualifications, recent teaching experience and the capacity to contribute to and collaborate with a highly effective and geographically dispersed team. In addition, the applicant will display highly-developed organisation skills to balance changing priorities, whilst developing and fostering relationships with stakeholders across all educational sectors to receive high-quality communication outcomes. This role will be based in either Sydney or another Australia capital city by negotiation.
This role is a full-time, three year contract with the possibility of extension (secondment arrangements may be negotiated).
