Government Promotes Cyber Safety at Your School

We are pleased to announce the theme for this year's

Stay Smart Online Week, which will run from 9-13 October 2017.

This year, Stay Smart Online will promote the theme of Simple steps to online safety to coincide with the United States' Cyber Security Awareness Month. This theme reinforces the message that all members of the public can take some simple actions to protect themselves online and to recover in the event a cyber incident occurs.

For most of us, the internet opens up new opportunities. We can shop, bank, research, work and connect when and where we want to. But the online world can also give criminals opportunities to steal money, information or identities. The good news is that we can all take simple steps to better protect our personal or business information online. 2017 Stay Smart Online Week will promote easy-to-follow, practical advice to help you and your stakeholders stay safe online and learn what to do if things go wrong.

How can I get involved?
As our valued Partners, we are keen to seek your involvement in promoting the Week. Again this year we will develop a Partner resource kit to assist you to spread the message and have considered your feedback from last year about what you found most and least useful. Any further feedback you have on how your organisation would use the kit, and the types of resources your organisation would benefit from, would be most welcome.

We would also love to hear from you on any ideas you have for events or activities to hold during the Week, and opportunities for us to work together. We know some of you have already reached out to express interest in collaborating on activities, and we'll be making further direct contact with those Partners.

Thank you for your continued support and we look forward to working with you to deliver Stay Smart Online Week!

Kind regards,

Linda Schulz (02 6141 2973)
