1.     Japanese Foundation Grants
The Japan Foundation offers two types of grants to support teachers of the Japanese-language. Major Grants (Training Programs) have one application round per year and are administered in collaboration with the Japan Foundation Head Office. These are designed to support the professional development of teachers through in-country Japanese language training at the Japan Foundation's Japanese-Language Institute in Urawa. Mini Grants are administered locally, and are designed to support the purchase of Japanese teaching materials; the running of speech contents, and support projects undertaken by organisations belonging to the Sakura Network. 2.     Melbourne Water Community Grants Program (VIC)
Melbourne Water offer grants annually to volunteer community groups and organisations in the Port Phillip and Westernport region. These grants are designed to support them in delivering waterway improvements on public land. Community groups can apply for support grants up to $1,000 and project grants up to $20,000. 3.     Gardiner Foundation 2019 Tertiary Scholarship Program (VIC)
Gardiner Dairy Foundation is offering tertiary scholarships worth $10,000 per year to up to seven individuals residing in Victorian dairy communities, commencing studies in 2019 to pursue a career that will either directly benefit the dairy industry and/or benefit dairy communities. 4.     Local Sporting Champions Grants
The Local Sporting Champions program provides financial assistance for coaches, officials and competitors aged 12-18 participating in state, national or international championships. If successful, applicants will receive $500-$750 towards the cost of attending their championships. 5.     Andrews Foundation Grants (VIC)
The Trust gives priority to projects which are designed to create and improve educational opportunities and training for students who are disadvantaged or with disabilities. Preference is given to grants that benefit communities within the Shires of South Gippsland, Baw Baw, Cardinia, Bass Coast, Yarra Ranges, Mornington and the Cities of Casey and Greater Dandenong. 6.     Unsung Heroes Awards
EducationHQ is again asking for nominations to recognise those members of your school community and wider education sector who inspire and make a difference to students and staff alike.
