CaSPA continues support for Teacher Trainees in Sudan

Above:  Toms Bolis - who is being sponsored through her teacher training in Sudan by CaSPA

As you may be aware, the CaSPA Board undertakes a Social Justice project annually.  Rather than using the funds provided by others, the amount raised in interest from Invested Funds is used to support these projects. Currently this sees around $11,000 available for our current project - providing 100% funding for a female teacher trainee at the Catholic Teachers's College in South Sudan.  Here is a report on her progress from Sr Margaret Scott [an Australian who is principal of the College]:

Greetings from Solidarity Teacher Training College in Yambio!!

We are now into the third week of our second trimester and I thought it time to give a progress report on Toma, the student you are sponsoring.

Toma did very well in her third trimester and is now on the home run to Graduation which will be on Saturday 18  August.

We have a small graduation ceremony every trimester as it is not possible or feasible for the students to return to the College for Graduation. It would also be very difficult to send their certificates to them so it is more practical to have the Graduation before they go home.

You can be proud of the work that Toma is doing. On the 4 june her class begins their next round of Teaching Practice in local schools and this is always a challenging time for the students.

From all of us at the College, we thank you for your support of one of the female students.

Blessings,

Sr Margaret
