Patrick O'Reilly, principal of Southern Cross College, NSW spoke to delegates during the CaSPA Forum about the benefits of forming a sub group within CaSPA for the mutual support and benefit of the schools involved.

The ACTVCA grew out of a previous network of Australian Technical Colleges (ATCs), which emerged in 2005/2006. As ATC funding concluded in 2009, 3 ATCs either continued as or came into Catholic system operation:
There was a shared desire on the part of these 3 Colleges, alongside that of the emerging large and/or specialist Catholic Trade Training Centres, to meet regularly, share wisdom and experiences, and advocate for the VET in the Catholic schools sector.
The current membership of the Association includes the 3 Colleges list above, as well
