Above: Parliamentary Educator Penny Jurkiewicz watches as a Blighty Public School student tries out the Mace. Students from Blighty Public School, Conargo Public School and Mayrung Public School visited Parliament House together in April.
The Parliamentary Education Office (PEO) knows not all schools have the ability to travel to Canberra and visit us at Parliament House. In this edition of Session Notes we focus on the opportunities available to teachers around Australia to bring the Parliament to their own classroom.
Our 2018 outreach program has kicked-off with students and teachers on the Gold Coast participating in parliamentary education and professional learning programs. Parliamentary Educator Marissa Beard lets us know how it went. A school teacher shares their video conferencing experience with us and we hear from a participant of our recent week-long Rotary Adventure in Citizenship program at Parliament House.
Thanks again for your support. We welcome your feedback and suggestions for future editions.
