Submissions are now open for the 2018 Resilient Australia Awards. The awards celebrate initiatives that make communities safer and better prepared for hazards and emergencies, promoting shared responsibility for resilience.
The awards feature a dedicated school category; last year's national winner was St Ives North Public School (NSW), who partnered with NSW Rural Fire Service to deliver a holistic, integrated bushfire education program.
Strathewen Primary School (VIC) were among the finalists, with a creative Claymation project also delivered in partnership with local emergency services.
We believe this program could be of interest to Catholic educators around the country.
Submissions are open in every state and territory until 31 May.
Jurisdictional winners will be considered for the Resilient Australia National School Award (read more: aidr.org.au/resilient-australia-awards).
