NT searches for a successor to CEO Director, Michael Avery
Ahead of the impending retirement of long-time Darwin director of Catholic education Michael Avery [pictured above at the 2014 CaSPA Confrence], Bishop Eugene Hurley is seeking an experienced education leader to fill the role.

CaSPA has worked closely with Michael over the time he has been Director and appreciate what has been achievd in partnership with the NT Catholic Education Office.  The Board and Directors of CaSPA wish Michael all the best for his future plans

The director of Catholic education will be Bishop Hurley's principal advisor in all matters relating to Catholic education in the Northern Territory. The director provides policy leadership and management support for the network of Catholic schools in the Diocese of Darwin and also represents the diocese on a range of issues with local, territory, national education and schooling authorities.

There are currently 17 Catholic schools in the Northern Territory, including several that are the sole educational provider in remote Indigenous communities.

The Director leads the work of the Catholic Education Office and is based in Darwin.  The position involves frequent and extensive travel.
