1.     OurSchool alumni service (VIC)
The Victorian Association of State Secondary Principals (VASSP) will deliver the Ourschool service to help Victorian state schools build valuable networks. Ourschool is a subscription-based service, working with school staff and volunteers to build each school's alumni community, co-ordinate alumni involvement with the school and embed a sustainable alumni culture across the school. 2.     City of Sydney grants and sponsorships (NSW)
The second round of the 2017 grants and sponsorships is now open. With a total of 15 grants and sponsorships, the program covers a wide range of services and projects that directly benefit 1 or more of the following:
·         celebrating culture and creativity
·         supporting the economy and business
·         ensuring environmental sustainability
·         building community

3.     Victorian Women's Trust Sub-Funds Grants Program (VIC)
The Victorian Women's Benevolent Trust has nine Sub-Funds open for grants in 2017. The Sub-Funds provide small grants to eligible organisations for innovative programs for Victorian women and girls. Grants can range from $3,000 to $10,000 depending on the Sub-Fund. Applications close on Monday 31st July 2017.

4.     Leader Local Grants (VIC)
Leader is giving away financial grants to support ideas that will help improve local Victorian communities. There will be one (1) grant cycle during this period. In this grant cycle, up to $26,000 worth of grants may be awarded. This is broken down into 26 grants of up to $1,000 each plus one Toyota Hi-Ace Van. Applications close 14th July 2017

5.     Grandparents Day event grants program (NSW)
This program will enable community organisations, school P&F committees, small businesses and local councils to host events that celebrate grandparents and older people for NSW Grandparents Day on Sunday, October 29. Schools and community organisations are eligible under Category 1 - $100 to $1,000 for small-scale local community events or activities. Applications close Friday 14 July at 5.00pm. 6.     Schools Tree Day
Each year, around 3,000 preschools, kindies, primary and high schools across Australia take part in Schools Tree Day. Students nation-wide have learnt how to plant, and care for the seedlings they grow. Schools Tree Day 2017 will be held on Friday July 28th, although events can be held at any time during the year. Schools Tree Day can mark the beginning of a long-term environmental program, engaging students in a fun, hands on activity that can reinforce their environmental, maths, science and creative arts learning or simply contribute to creating beautiful school grounds. 7.     LiteracyPlanet Word Mania 2017
LiteracyPlanet Word Mania 2017 is a free competition for schools involving an online game that challenges students to build as many words as they can in three minutes. The competition is by year level and open to Years 1 to 9. Over $350,000 in prizes available. For more information see the website 

8.     2017 School Reconciliation Grants program (WA)
Applications are now open for the 2017 School Reconciliation Grants program, which gives $2000 to schools in metropolitan and regional WA to embrace Aboriginal culture and build stronger relationships with the indigenous community. All schools across the state are eligible to enter. Applications close 4th August 2017. For more information see the Reconciliation WA website
